Hendersonville Arts Festival

The Hendersonville Arts Council hosts the annual Hendersonville Arts Festival. The multi-day festival features local and national artists, live music, local and regional food vendors, and a beloved kids and family area. Artists travel to Sanders Ferry Park to showcase art in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, glass, painting, photography, and more. Admission to this family-friendly event is free. Visitors can plan to enjoy art instillations, hands-on activities, and more.

History

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) created the Hendersonville Arts Council (HAC) in 1975 with the goal of bringing a focus on the arts to the Hendersonville community.

In 1998, Monthaven Mansion became the headquarters of the Hendersonville Arts Council. In 2015, members of the HAC created a separate 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, which is known today as the Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center (MACC). The Hendersonville Arts Council was effectively dissolved with this change. While the City of Hendersonville continues to support the MACC through use of land and financial grant contribution, the MACC operates as a separate entity.

In 2022, BOMA re-established the Hendersonville Arts Council as a city committee to increase focus on the arts in our growing community. In 2024, the HAC brought the first-ever Arts Festival to Hendersonville. The HAC is thrilled to continue to host the annual festival and create opportunities to celebrate the arts in our city.
