Title: Chief of Operations


The Chief of Operations (COO) is charged with carrying out the day-to-day operations of the City government providing administrative leadership to the City's more than 500 employees. The Chief of Operations is appointed by and serves at the leisure of, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA). In addition to the overall operation of the city and monitoring the performance of all departments, the COO may collaborate with a variety of groups and agencies, both public and private, in the development of the city's economic base. The Chief of Operations also oversees the preparation of the annual budget and ensures local, state, and federal compliance with all fiscally sound accounting procedures. Strategically, the COO will manage the development and implementation of City goals, objectives, and long-term plans.

Jesse Eckenroth joined the City of Hendersonville in 2021 and serves under the Mayor as the City's Chief of Operations. Jesse received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University in 2002. During college and through 2014, Jesse was self-employed as a general contractor in southern California. In 2014, Jesse had an opportunity to join the team at the City of Rancho Mirage and served in a variety of leadership roles including Finance Manager and Director of Public Works.
