Volunteering Coaches Information

Volunteer coaches are the backbone of all City of Hendersonville's youth athletic leagues. Without the dedication, support, and commitment of volunteers our youth sports programs would not be possible. Please note that our department is focused on the development and safety of our children, and requires all volunteer coaches to be certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) and successfully pass a background check.

To volunteer as a head coach for a specific sport, please contact the Hendersonville Parks Department for an application at 615-828-3898 or email the Parks Department.

On February 14, 2018, the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 (PDF) was signed into law and became effective immediately. This act requires any member who suspects any type of abuse to report to local or federal law enforcement, or to a child welfare agency within 24 hours. Listed below are several educational documents, resources, and video trainings we encourage all participants to review.
