Potential locations for charging stations in Hendersonville. McDonald's will be the first to introduce the charging stations, followed by other locations as the installation details are finalized.
HENDERSONVILLE, TN – October 14, 2011 – ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECTY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies, today announced the company’s first Blink Electric Vehicle (EV) Pedestal Charging Station installation in Hendersonville, TN. Teaming with Ted Lyon, local owner of area McDonald’s Restaurants, ECOtality held a ribbon cutting ceremony and press conference at 1:00 pm CST on October 16, 2011 on location at 258 Indian Lake Blvd, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
Mayor Scott Foster, other Elected Officials, local stakeholders, EV drivers and company representatives plan on gathering outside Hendersonville’s newest to publicly introduce available electric charging stations in Hendersonville. The restaurant is located in the heart of Indian Lake Village, a live work and play community.
“This property was once part of a Revolutionary War Grant given to the original owners in exchange for their service to our country,” said Scott Foster, Mayor of Hendersonville. “What better way to introduce the future than on ground that was originally granted over 200 years ago to those who fought for independence from the past.”
ECOtality began installations of its charging stations in EV Project regions nationwide in December 2010, and since then has completed more than 3,500 installations nationwide.
“We are pleased that Ted Lyon has stepped up to be the first to offer EV Charging Stations in Hendersonville”, Mayor Foster continued. “We know that electric vehicle ownership is growing in Hendersonville as residents look for more efficient modes of transportation that is easier on the wallet to operate and friendlier to the environment. We see this as a first step to increasing EV ownership in the area.”
