The 2000 Census population was 40,620, a 26.9 percent increase from 1990. Hendersonville ranks as Tennessee's 10th largest city. The city incorporated in 1969.   Based on a special census performed in 2006, the population stands at 42,509.

Area: Hendersonville is 32 square miles in size, 26 miles of shoreline on Old Hickory Lake. 350 miles of paved city roads.

Location: US-31E, Gallatin Road, Sumner County, Tennessee. Hendersonville borders northern Davidson County, (Metro-Nashville).
