Land Disturbance/Construction Site Run-Off
All land disturbance activities in the City and its Urban Growth boundary are expected to utilize a series of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) and are to be self monitored to assure compliance with the City of Hendersonville’s stormwater quality standards. A Power Point Presentation titled: Expectations for Construction Activities will give a better overview on these expectations. One of the BMP’s required by the City of Hendersonville is the Self Inspection or (SI). A Power Point Presentation titled: Using the Self Inspection Sheet will walk you thru the SI process. The standard form used for Self Inspections is available as either a Self Inspection Microsoft Excel or as a Self Inspection PDF Document. A completed mock SI form that be used as a visual example can be found titled: Self Inspection Example. The SI is to be conducted at least every 14 days and within 24 hours after rain events of 0.5” or greater rainfall. Rain events are determined by using the National Weather Services Ohio River Forecast 24 Hour Accumulated Precipitation Maps and/or Hendersonville, Tennessee Daily Precipitation by Intellicast. Recently verified rain events for the City are listed on this page below and are updated each day at 9am Central time. Information on other BMP’s can be found in the TDEC Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook.
